We offer pure, true-to-type, Peregion Bean seed!!! Many seed companies sell seed that contains "solid mocha seeds". These are an off-type and are not Peregion because they are a different size and shape and have a completely different pod. We have spent many years isolating our plants in order to get the seed available in this listing, our Peregion Bicolor strain, and the strain available in another listing, our Peregion Black strain (aka the "solid mocha seeds" in other seed companies "Peregion" seed.
Our pure strain of Peregion Bean seed contains only bicolor seeds, with the traditional buff color with chocolate brown stripes. Bush plants are heavy producers of green pods with purple streaks that contain 8-10 beans. Makes a hearty soup, and great for baking too. If I run out of pinto beans, I have used these as a substitute and they work great for Mexican dishes. About 90 days to maturity (dry beans).

I am so happy to have this one back in it's true form. We have grown this one for probably 30 years and knew the last 10-15 that those dark ones were not the original. I highly recommend this variety if you like to make baked beans. As with all the seeds we received from Mertie Mae, it came up fast and it was evident that the seed was very fresh.
