Purple Tomatillo Seeds -- Organically Grown, non-GMO, Heirloom, Made in Wisconsin - USA

$1.00

Tomatillos are native to Mexico and were domesticated by the Aztecs around 800 B.C., making it one of the most ancient food-bearing vegetables of the Americas. Purple Tomatillos have beautiful purple fruit, large in size. Many are a bright violet color throughout their flesh. Much sweeter than the green types; it can be eaten right off the plant. Turns purple when ripe; rare! About 70 days to maturity.

We recommend growing tomatillos in full sun. They do not require a pollinator in order to produce fruit. Planting and care instructions are included on the back of your receipt with each purchase.

Unlike other Etsy sellers that buy a large package of seed from a seed company and break it down into smaller packet, we grow all our own seed. These seeds were hand harvested from disease-free, organically-grown fruits grown near Tomah, Wisconsin, during the pastsummer and fall. Although we are not certified organic because our operation occurs at a residence as part of a Seed Savers Exchange membership rather than a large scale farm, we follow the same practices used by organic farmers for growing our stock plants and the AOSA Standards for seed viability and quality control standards used by commercial seed companies.
