National Pickling Cucumber Seeds -- Organically Grown, non-GMO, Heirloom, Made in Wisconsin - USA

Cucumis sativa. National Pickling Cucumbers come from the breeding trials of George Starr of Michigan State University. Starr was commissioned by the National Pickle Packers Association to produce a cucumber that would perform well as both a small or large cucumber. After years of work, the variety hit the market in 1924 with great success. The fruit’s thin, tender skin is perfect for the pickling process because it allows for the cucumber to easily absorb the spices and brine without losing the crisp texture. Fruits are short and thick with a blunt end when used small (2-4 inches), or smooth and cylindrical when used as a larger pickle (4-6 inches). 50-60 days to maturity.

We recommend growing National Pickling Cucumbers in full sun. They do not require a pollinator in order to produce fruit. Planting and care instructions are included with each purchase.
